QXAS (Quantitative X-ray Analysis System) is a software suite designed for processing and quantitative analysis of energy‑dispersive X-ray spectra, primarily from X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and related techniques. It helps convert raw spectral data into reliable elemental concentrations by combining robust spectrum processing with calibration and quantification tools.

Key capabilities include:

  • Background estimation and subtraction to improve signal-to-noise.
  • Peak identification, deconvolution, and non-linear least-squares peak fitting.
  • Energy and efficiency calibration, with options for both empirical and fundamental-parameters–based quantification.
  • Matrix-effect and interference corrections for accurate multi-element analysis.
  • Batch processing, quality-control checks, and report/export functions for streamlined workflows.

QXAS is used in environmental monitoring, geology, materials science, cultural heritage, forensics, and industrial quality control—anywhere precise, reproducible XRF/EDXRF results are required. It supports common spectrum formats from energy‑dispersive detectors and provides a clear, guided workflow from spectrum import to final concentration reports.

QXAS is developed by The IAEA Seibersdorf Laboratories. The most popular version of this product among our users is 3.6.
